About The Settlement Project
The Settlement Project is a collaborative research initiative that investigates how the public understands and evaluates the settlement of legal disputes. Using nationally representative surveys and experimental studies, the project explores public beliefs about settlement—including its fairness, voluntariness, secrecy, and implications for responsibility. Led by Jennifer Robbennolt, Jessica Bregant, and Verity Winship, The Settlement Project provides an empirical foundation for the practice and policy of dispute resolution and sheds light on how settlement shapes public trust in the legal system
